To All Musomians | A message from Harshad Kothari

Dear All Musomians

We have all heard the sad news of Five Musomians passing away within 2 weeks ! This must be a record and our sympathy and condolences go to all the bereaved families.

With the advent of web-sites and emailing facilities, communication has become easier. In the past we did not get the news at all or even if we did it was months or years later. Sometimes, when you meet an old friend after many years you ask about their family and many times they give the sad news of someone in their family passing away long time ago.

Now, the news is almost instant or received within 24 hours ! You may notice that since the Musoma Blog was created we have had more than 5000 hits (visitors) ! This shows that many people are looking at it. However, we have still not covered a large population of ex-Musomians as we do not have their email ID’s.

Credit for creating and maintaining this important News Forum for us should go to Rakesh Rao, who is the son of Mr. Jashwant CM Rao (Musoma Emporium) and is based in California. Maintaining this Blog is not easy and is time consuming.

I hope that those of who find it useful and informative will join me in showing our appreciation to Rakesh !

To ensure that this Forum is more effective and carries on for a long time, I urge all those who are registered to pass on messages to other Musomians and ask them or help them to register.

If you have any comments, please do forward them to us directly by email or using the |Contact| page on this site.

    Harshad,

Very touching to read your request to all the Musomians to register free of charge on the Musoma website.

Each Musomian who visits MusomaBlog, must make a vow to get seven to ten fellow Musomians (Don’t worry if some of them will be duplicated. The site administrators will sort and organise them) registered on the site. Following on from the strong foundations laid by the Musoma Team, in collecting all the information of Musomians and organizing the wonderful Reunion at Heythorpe Park.

Hats off to Firoz Kassam and, of course, our meticulous Dr Manjul K K Vasant and your untiring effort. You must take full credit for that famous unforgettable Musoma Reunion and not to forget the great support of the CommitteeMembers. The souvenir published after that reunion, shows all the photos and full list of the efficient Organisers. A precious treasure for me, and I am sure for all who have this souvenir.

The usual common reply from my fellow Mzee Musomians I get when I mention registering on MusomaBlog is:

Jashwant tane to khabar chee mane computerma khabar na pade and chhokraao ne sompi dithu chhe
(You are aware that I am all at sea with computer and the Children who have grown up have taken charge of this.)

I am also in touch with many younger generation Musomians, but they are not really that active. Although the response is slow and trickling the recent sudden unfortunate sad demise of fellow Musomians left a scar in all Musomians’ hearts and many have come forward to ask how to get to the Musoma news site. Good positve response from a sad and painful period for all Musomians.

I am lucky to be able to speak to many Musomians quite regularly. Whenever I have the privilege to meet, visit or speak to a fellow Musomian I always speak to them and try my best to get their email/contact details and have succeeded. Sometimes I do not get the details because they are not comfortable with using a computer. But I carry on with positive thoughts as per the poem Bruce and The Spider by Bernard Barton, learnt in school.

Now I must ask a favour from the fellow Musomians that every time they come in contact with a fellow Musomian, please have them go to musomablog.com and send an email to the administrators using the |Contact| page at the top or if they are not very comfortable offer to send, with their permission, their email/contact details to MusomaBlog.
Thank you again, Harshad, for your heart touching thoughts and we now hope the MusomaBlog website ball rolled by you, the Members of The Committee and Rakesh, rolls faster, stronger and bigger. Inshallah.

Meanwhile, with lost of blessings to best wishes to you and fellow Musomians.

Can I take some liberty to suggest getting in touch with all Musomians listed in the souvenir by postal mail and including a reply paid card/envelope. I think this may help in getting more Musomians involved. If I can be of any help, assistance or support, please do not hesitate at all in getting in touch with me.

It is very encouraging to see that this site is getting so many visits, either by regular visitors or new ones coming for first time. Maybe the administrators can give some details on that.

Warm Musoma regards to all Musomians.

    Asante,

    Jashwant C M Rao

  2. Dean Sunderji Says:

    Hello Rakesh,
You are doing a great job on our wonderful website.
Please keep it up and i am recieving lots of good comments from many Musomians.
    Thanks
    Dean

  3. Rakesh Says:

    @ Harshadbhai:
Thank you for the kind comments. However, I must say that it is the enthusiasm and support of many Musomians that gave impetus to an idea and kept this site going.

    @ Mr Sunderji:
Thank you for your compliments. It is always nice to hear that this site is helping fellow Musomians keep that rare and unique ‘connection’.

Whilst the aim of establishing this site is not to gain any compliments, the words of encouragement are always helpful. Words such as those of Harshadbhai and Mr Sunderji amongst many and also the latest comment by Dr Inderjit G Vig (click this link: comment by Dr Inderjit G Vig )just show that this site is useful and helpful in many ways to fellow Musomians.

    Thank you.

  4. Mina Hussein Bhanji Says:

    Harshadbhai:

Thanks for the sympathies and condolences. I do miss my Mother terribly, however, all I can do is pray for her soul to rest in peace. Ameen.
I do concur with comments from other Musomians that it is indeed very useful to have this website to keep abreast with Musomians.
    Cheers!
