Camel Trophy – Tanzania/Burundi: Landrovers put to task
The Camel Trophy is an annual event putting 4WD vehicles to the test on the most rigorous terrains imaginable. Both man and machine is put to a very hard test of character and endurance. The Camel Trophy 1991 took place in Tanzania and Burundi. Starting from Dar Es Salaam, via Mbanga and Selous and ending in Bujumbura, Burundi. All the teams drove the Landrover tDI – Turbo Diesel 4WD.
This post has nothing to do with Musoma. But, Musomians will agree that, Landrovers are an integral part of our memories of our respective lives in Africa. As is the East African Safari Rally with the famous exploits of Joginder Singh. The boxy Landrovers of the 60s and 70s have not progressed to the tDis and the Range Rovers.
